IGCAR-IITM-SMC Winter school on Material characterisation

IGCAR, Kalpakkam, in association with the SMC Chennai Chapter, is organizing a five-day Winter School on Materials Characterization from December 1–5, 2026. The programme brings together experts from academia and IGCAR to provide participants with a comprehensive exposure to modern materials characterization techniques. Covering Powder XRD, Raman Spectroscopy, XPS, HRTEM, HRMS, Nuclear Techniques, Impedance Spectroscopy and AI in Materials Characterization, the school combines lectures with hands-on practical sessions and visits to IGCAR facilities. The programme is designed to provide participants with both fundamental understanding and practical insights into advanced characterization methods.
